Datenschutz

Für diese Webseite, die Downloads und die App Bent°Corner. Stand: Oktober 2026.

Kurz gesagt

  • Keine Cookies, kein Tracking, keine Werbung, keine Analyse-Werkzeuge.

2. Hosting

Privacy

For this website, the downloads and the Bent°Corner app. As of October 2026.

In short

  • No cookies, no tracking, no ads, no analytics.
  • The camera image never leaves your computer when you scan – recognition runs entirely on your PC. Card pictures only go out if you want them to (Scan Studio, see 7.).
  • Fonts are served from this server – no data goes to Google or other third parties.
  • IP addresses are not stored in logs – neither for the website, the downloads nor the exchange server (exception: login attempts on the server itself, see 2.).
  • No transfer to countries outside the EU.
  • Exchange between friends is end-to-end encrypted; the server cannot read the contents.
  • Usage numbers only as totals without any identifier – and the voluntary ones only if you agree.
  • The website only remembers language and light/dark in your browser (localStorage) – nothing is sent.

2. Hosting

Website, downloads and exchange server run on a virtual server by Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. The server is located in Germany, backups in the EU (Lithuania). A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place. All data stays in the EU – there is no transfer to third countries. Up to version 0.9.1 the app still reaches this server via the former address bentcorner.oliver-schunn.tech – same server, same rules.

When you open a page or download a file, the server necessarily processes your device's IP address to deliver the data. For downloads and the exchange server it also keeps it briefly in memory to limit abuse (concurrent downloads, requests per minute, new IDs per hour); it is forgotten there after one day at the latest. It is not stored in access logs – neither by the web server nor by the proxy in front of it. For the website we only count how often a page was opened on a day (time, page, result) – without IP address, browser or referrer, so nothing that could identify a person; this count is kept for 24 months. So that only people are counted, the server checks the browser identifier for programs and search engine robots when a page is opened; it is not stored. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (secure, working operation).

The only exception – logins to the server itself (SSH, not the website, downloads or app): these login attempts are recorded with their IP address in the server's system log to protect against attacks and kept for at most 5 weeks. After several failed attempts the IP address is blocked temporarily (1 hour, longer if repeated). Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (protection against attacks).

Website: it sets no cookies and embeds nothing from other servers. Your choice of language and light/dark is saved in your browser's storage (localStorage); it stays on your device, is not transmitted and is not used for tracking. Legal basis for storing it on your device: § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG (strictly necessary for the setting you chose). To delete it, clear the site data in your browser. Only if the page is opened with “?me=…” (meant only for the operator, so his own visits aren't counted) does the browser remember that until the tab is closed (sessionStorage). The “Buy me a coffee” button is just a link to buymeacoffee.com – only when you click it do you leave this site, and Buy Me a Coffee's privacy policy applies there.

3. Downloads and updates

You can download Bent°Corner on this site. On start and every 6 hours the app checks whether a new version exists (a small file from bentcorner.app) and, if you like, downloads it in the background. Only the version number and the file are requested – nothing from your collection. Turn off: in the app under Settings → Legal & data → Updates.

Counting without personal data: the download server counts program downloads (file, time) and the first update check of a day per installation (version, time) – without IP address and without any identifier. This only yields daily totals. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. The same update directory may contain news from the Bent°Corner team, shown in your profile; nothing about you is sent for that.

4. The Bent°Corner app

Bent°Corner runs on your computer. Collection, sessions, decks, lists, binders, settings and card images stay there; there is no account and no login. To load card data, images, prices and exchange rates the app contacts these services:

Like any web request, all of these services receive your IP address; nothing from your collection is transmitted. Requests only contain the cards, sets or decks being looked up. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (running the app with current card data and prices).

5. Exchange via the Bent°Corner server

Off until you turn it on in the app. Then: only a random ID and a public key are stored – no name, no email. Friend requests, lists and binders are end-to-end encrypted on your device; the server sees only IDs, size and time. Packets are deleted after pickup, at the latest after 14 days; shared lists and binders 6 months after they were last shared (the app re-shares regularly while you use it). If you withdraw something – make a list private, stop sharing your library, turn the exchange off – it is deleted at once and your friends delete their copy. The server's weekly backups may contain encrypted data for up to two weeks longer. A registered ID with its public key is deleted after 365 days without use; blocks involving that ID are deleted with it. Only friends you add or choose see anything. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR.

Reports: if you report a friend, you send what you can see of them yourself (name, card back, titles of shared lists and binders) together with the reason, a note, both IDs and the time – that is the only way to check for violations of the terms of use. Reports are deleted after 180 days. An ID can be blocked for violations (ID, reason and date are stored). To stop a block from being bypassed with a new ID right away, the server briefly counts new IDs per IP address in memory (at most 5 per hour) – the IP address is not stored. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in preventing illegal content and protecting other users).

6. Team messages and voluntary numbers

Team messages: with exchange turned on, the Bent°Corner team can send a message to your ID (e.g. a question about cards you contributed). End-to-end encrypted; you cannot reply. Turn off under Settings → Legal & data. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR.

Voluntary anonymous numbers: only if you agree, the app sends a packet without any identifier once a week: version, operating system, app language, which games you use, on how many of the last 7 days you used each part of the app (e.g. scanning, library, decks, trade – 0 to 7 each) and rough amounts as tiers (0 · 1–10 · 11–100 · more than 100) for scanned cards, decks, friends, binders and tickets. No times, no clicks, no ID, no name, no cards. The server only adds it to weekly totals and does not store the single packet; the IP address is only held in memory to count at most one packet per day, and this record is cleared daily. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TDDDG) – revocable at any time.

7. Scan studio: contributing cards

Only when you explicitly choose “Upload all” in the scan studio and have agreed, the images of the cards in your box (the cropped card and, if you want, the uncropped photo) and your details (game, card name/set/number, purpose, for alt-arts the artist and a link, optionally a message and the name you want to be credited with) go to the Bent°Corner server – together with your ID, so you can see the status under “Sent” and we can reply. Photo metadata (EXIF, GPS) is removed first. Purpose: adding missing cards, better images and – with the artists' consent – alt-arts to the Bent°Corner card database; only if you additionally allow it do we pass them on to fan projects like TCGdex (images and card details only; never your ID, your name only if you want to be credited). If you confirm by email that you are the artist of an uploaded alt-art, we note this with the contribution (artist name or profile and your ID) so we can approve the cards and attribute them to you; we delete the note on request. Without unlocking, the server accepts up to 30 cards in at most 3 sends per ID and day; for more, email us and we'll send you a personal upload link to bentcorner.app/upload.html. Via that link the images (re-saved in your browser, which drops metadata such as EXIF/GPS, at most 3000 pixels) and the details from your karten.txt (game, name/set/number, language, rarity, purpose, artist and link, optionally credit and message) go to the Bent°Corner server – without the app and without an app ID; they are attributed by the name we give the link. Only a fingerprint of the link is stored, it expires and counts the uploaded cards; we don't store IP addresses. Deletion on request by email. For a new contribution the server may send the team a short email (card title, game, purpose and your ID), sent via Hostinger's email service (see 2.). Kept until processed or as long as it is in the database; deletion: email us your ID. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR) – revocable at any time.

8. Contact by email

If you write to me, I process your address and message only to reply (Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR if it concerns a contract, otherwise (f)); the mailbox is hosted by Hostinger (see 2.). It is deleted once the matter is settled and nothing has to be kept. Contributions to the Scan Studio are additionally covered by 7.

9. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). You can object at any time to processing based on Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR). Just send an email to the address above – for deletion your ID from the app is enough.

You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority; the competent one is the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany, www.lda.bayern.de.
